Seasonal depression got you down? Shifting weather can be a rollercoaster with complicated emotional ups and downs. However, we have some tips to help manage the winter blues as smoothly as possible.
- Talk About It: Reach out to someone close to you or in another safe space, vulnerably express your feelings, fears, & goals.
- Treat Yourself: Without causing financial stress, treat yourself to something seasonal that makes you happy. Whether it’s a pumpkin spice latte in the fall or cherry blossom tea in the spring, find something that excites you to move forward into the next phase.
- Keep Active: Release those natural endorphins by being active! Whatever is within your physical abilities, get moving! There are ways to stay active in every season. Make a schedule, set an alarm, & hold yourself to it.
- Lighten Up: As you start to feel the season shift, write down ten new things you are looking forward too. When you begin to feel yourself slip emotionally, take out your compilation of lists & remember that you have something to look forward to also.
